| A primary hybrid between glandulosa and coccinea, I was rather hesitant
to try growing this plant, fearing that the cool nature of one of its parents
(coccinea) would dominate. This fear has not been realized, and the
glandulosa parent seems obviously dominant in a number of ways. The
tubular shape and fuzziness of glandulosa has carried forward, with the
more even coloration of coccinea. The flowers have a very slight
fragrance of spiced candy.
This plant is grown in a clay pot in a mix of tree fern fiber and bark to provide some extra cooling and aeration. |
